D. Wade: Life Unexpected is an intimate feature documentary chronicling Dwyane Wade's extraordinary career and the personal journey behind one of basketball's most celebrated figures.
As supervising producer, Rolake Bamgbose worked closely with Wade's team and ESPN Films to help shape a deeply personal portrait built from hundreds of hours of never-before-seen home movies, private video diaries, and more than a decade of archival footage. Through candid conversations with Wade, his family, and pivotal figures in his life and career, the film explores the experiences that shaped him beyond basketball—from fatherhood and family to sacrifice, identity, and life after the game.
The film premiered on ESPN in February 2020.
